Behind the workflow: ShopifyProductPageWriting

Before this job can act

Prerequisites for your store

  • Provide a valid Randmar SKU with UPC or manufacturer part number, the correct linked Shopify hostname, usable Shopify access and a reseller account public name.
  • The product must exist in Shopify or be eligible for creation through selected-product sync, which this workflow invokes when needed.
  • Supply approved store branding and specific instructions when you want them used. Branding attachments are optional; their absence does not create a review gate.
  • Treat the request as permission to update the product page and replace image/video media. This processor has no built-in draft-approval step.
  • The required writing instructions must be available and generation services must return usable results. If shared images must be generated, the product needs a manufacturer ID.
  • Check that identifiers identify the intended listing uniquely. Lookup uses UPC when present, otherwise manufacturer part number, and searches Shopify SKU and barcode.
  • The worker must be enabled for this job and the connected services must permit the required operations. This article does not confirm your store’s live permissions or schedule.

The purpose

Product knowledge, shaped for the store

The starting point is a Randmar SKU and a linked Shopify store. The processor gathers product information, manufacturer datasheets, reseller identity, shared images and available branding attachments. Specific instructions can guide the result.

If the product does not yet exist in Shopify, the workflow invokes selected-product sync first. It then generates the page content and applies it to Shopify. This is an updating workflow, so it should be treated as a store change rather than a private draft generator.

What it can change

  • Title, HTML description, SEO title and SEO description. Generated tags are merged into the existing tags.
  • Missing custom.spec1 through custom.spec4 values and missing vendor, product type, barcode, SKU, country of origin and positive weight can be filled when suitable source values exist.
  • Existing Shopify image/video media is replaced by the chosen generated or reused media, with generated image alt text.

What it leaves alone

  • Already-populated specification fields and the standard attributes listed above are preserved. Existing tags remain in the merged tag set; titles, descriptions and SEO are not protected by populated specifications.
  • This is not a general price or quantity maintenance job. However, creating a missing product first invokes the separate selected-product sync workflow.
  • Shared cached images can be reused in normal mode, rather than regenerated for every store or every run.
Skipped, stopped or partly done

Exceptions you should know

  • No built-in preview or approval pause: generated text is applied to Shopify. Review it before directing customers to the updated page.
  • The normal image path accepts a partial shared cache. It generates eight neutral images only when the cache is empty, so fewer cached images do not automatically trigger a new full set.
  • Forced image generation creates store-specific imagery and a video. If the shared cache is empty, an additional neutral shared image set is also generated.
  • Text updates occur before later media work finishes. A later error can leave new text with incomplete or old media; the workflow is not an all-or-nothing page replacement.
  • Missing required information, invalid generated output or Shopify update errors can fail the job. Generated claims and images still need accuracy review; alt text can fall back to a generic product label.
  • No Randmar tag or empty-specification gate is required for an already-found product. A populated custom.spec1 field does not protect it from page writing.
  • Multiple identifier matches cause a warning and the first result is used. A matching variant can lead to product-level copy/media changes shared by other variants. Correct ambiguous identifiers before running.
  • Old image/video media is deleted before replacement finishes. Replacement failure can leave missing media, with no automatic restoration.
  • Brand guidelines and manufacturer PDFs are optional context, not mandatory prerequisites. PDFs above 40 MiB are skipped; failure preparing an included PDF can fail the job.
How the job connects the steps

One source base, two creative outputs

Process graph · conceptual sequence

  1. Facts + guidanceProduct, datasheets and brand context
  2. Research + generationCopy, SEO and specifications
  3. Page + mediaApply text; reuse or generate visuals
  4. Shopify resultUpdated listing for review

Arrows describe the workflow. They do not represent elapsed time, throughput or a guaranteed outcome.

How to check the result

  1. Check the live Shopify product record for title, description, SEO, tags and specifications.
  2. Review every image/video for correct product appearance and included accessories. Check that any media you wanted preserved was not replaced unexpectedly.
  3. Confirm both text and media completion, then correct unsupported claims or inaccurate visuals before promotion.

Clearer information still needs a human check

Review the page for accuracy and fit with your brand. Generated copy and visuals can support merchandising, but they do not guarantee factual accuracy, search ranking or higher conversion.

Scope of this explanation
