Marc BrunetBuilding bubba.ca with Claude Code
Authorized Canadian reseller of bubba drinkware, built with Claude Code.
In the summer of 2026, I sold my shares in Helium Deploy to answer one question: can I build a business from scratch, on my own?
The idea came from my longtime friend Gislain's warehouse. He runs the reseller sessions that bring new sellers into Randmar, and he had a stack of bubba water bottles in his warehouse.
bubba is a popular US drinkware brand with loyal fans and piles of reviews, but it had no real presence in Canada. So I bought the bubba.ca domain and opened shop here. Owning the domain came with a lesson: Google flagged the store for looking too much like bubba.com, so I rebuilt it to stand clearly on its own as an authorized Canadian reseller.
I built the whole store with Claude Code. Not as a chatbot I copy answers from, but as an agent with the keys: Shopify, the Randmar API, Google Ads, Merchant Center, Meta and my analytics. It built and pushed the theme, set up my email flows, generated product images, diagnosed my ad accounts and even did my bookkeeping. I describe what I want, it builds it, I review, and we iterate until it's right.
The judgment stays mine. When the AI photos made the bottles look bigger than they really are, I tape-measured every bottle and had Claude rebuild everything to true scale.
The same approach runs my Instagram. On @imabgold I make reels for one audience: developers who build with Claude Code. An app I'm building, eclip, handles the daily routine, cutting a reel from my camera roll and queuing it. I'm the review gate. In October one reel passed 1.8 million views, and the account has crossed 3 million reel views in its first year. The live numbers are on this page.
AI makes building cheap. Knowing what to build, and who it's for, is still the founder's job.
