Blog Calendar
Turn the customer strategy into an editorial plan worth publishing.
Final PDF: Editorial Strategy & 90-Day Blog Calendar. Primary reference: Playbook - Building your Blog Calendar (Doc #1).pdf [S19]. Apply its four phases across planning here and article production/execution in Module 06.
Audit, retrofit, then plan
Read the v2 brief and assess available business and marketing performance: relevant offerings and customer segments, enquiries or sales, operating capacity, ICP, and existing content/calendar. Include sales velocity, catalog sync counts and partner credit health only for businesses where relevant and accessible. Record source, period, and access gaps. Use private operating information only as needed; keep sensitive details out of shareable outputs.
Inventory existing posts and classify keep / update / rewrite / pivot / proposed removal with reasons. Plan a continuous 90-day sequence at the owner's chosen publishing pace; days without posts are valid. Align content to customer internal and philosophical problems. No fixed one-post-per-week assumption. Derive useful pillars and clusters; do not invent search volumes.
Every calendar entry
Required detail
Strategy and identity
Content ID; new/retrofit action; existing URL; title; pillar/cluster; ICP problem; intent; journey stage; angle; ultimate transformation; Engage/Educate/Entertain role.
Article brief depth
All 90 days: outline, evidence needs, product, service or solution fit, CTA and media/payload plan. First four weeks and every post before production: full brief, opening answer, sources, links, narrative, payload fields and audit checks.
Execution and learning
Owner/reviewer; draft/review/release dates and timezone; effort; dependencies; approval/status; platform-specific content ID/URL, where applicable; success signal and review date.
Generation and distribution contract
Each brief uses the Value Spine, You-First/WIIFM, Three E's, and Authenticity Anchor. Prepare raw narrative/emotional inputs; do not write social captions in the blog-authoring stage. Module 06 creates the article and hidden structured Emotional Payload; the distribution agent then adapts it to the three-channel strategy.
Fully brief the first four weeks of planned posts and outline the rest. Review cadence, retrofit actions, gaps, and priorities with the owner. All live modifications, scheduling, publication, or deletion require explicit approval. The final PDF contains the baseline audit, retrofit map, full calendar, briefs, decisions, and unresolved dependencies. [S19]
No blog or website yet?
Keep the Editorial Strategy & 90-Day Blog Calendar title, and use the calendar to plan useful long-form content on a channel you can operate: a newsletter, native social article, downloadable resource, presentation or relationship-led sales education. Choose a realistic pace and destination before planning. Service businesses can aim for qualified enquiries; manufacturers for distributor engagement and B2B leads; agencies for conversations and market visibility. Do not require ecommerce data or a Shopify content ID. Mark genuinely irrelevant checks N/A with a reason; unavailable evidence remains Not verified.
Carry your work forward
Carry the approved calendar and customer themes into Module 03 — Marketing Materials. Your creative assets then inform Module 04 organic social; Module 06 creates and distributes each approved content cycle.
