Storytelling + ICP, version 2

Create a brief a serious manufacturer would want to read.

Final PDF: Brand & Market Positioning v2: Manufacturer Partnership Brief. Purpose: demonstrate why this reseller is a credible route to a specific customer segment. Manufacturer-ready describes quality; it does not claim manufacturer acceptance.

Inputs and progressive interview

Read the Workbook brief first and reuse the exact brand name, story, visual rules, and facts. If no v1 exists, establish a labeled baseline from equivalent context and note that no historical comparison is available. Ask for missing store/catalog, category/manufacturer, market, customer signals, capabilities, constraints, and partnership intent. Never assume the reseller brand is Randmar.

Phase
Work and review checkpoint

A · Audit v1
For each material v1 hypothesis, record retain / refine / reject / verify and why. Identify weak positioning, unsupported promises, and missing customer insight.

B · Learn about the market
Review available customer feedback, support questions, store data, competitor positioning, public demand signals, and manufacturer product material. Capture source, date, scope, and limitations.

C · Sharpen positioning
Choose one priority ICP and a non-priority audience. Explain triggers, needs, anxieties, alternatives, objections, decision criteria, and the reseller advantage. Review a concise synthesis.

D · Build the partnership
case

Map customer needs to products/categories, demonstrate excellent storytelling, and create
an achievable 90-day plan plus a specific collaboration proposal.

E · Challenge and finish
Test for generic claims, weak evidence, contradictions, and unrealistic commitments. Revise against the quality standard, ask the final catch-all, and present the brief for learner review.

Evidence that improves the work

Use simple labels: verified with a source; founder-reported; working hypothesis; proposed commitment; or unknown. Separate customer quotations from inference. Public reviews can reveal themes but do not prove representativeness or willingness to buy from this reseller.

New resellers can complete the module through honest research and strong strategic reasoning. Do not require sales history, paid research, or customer interviews universally. Unresolved material hypotheses need a test, success signal, owner, and timing. Collecting feedback or contacting customers/manufacturers is a separate explicitly authorized action.

Make the quality standard explicit

Substance first. Editorial precision and visual polish throughout.

Required section
What excellent work contains

1 · Partnership thesis
One-page summary: priority customer, unmet need, focused positioning, manufacturer/category fit, reseller contribution, proposed ask, and next step.

2 · Brand foundation
Mission, founder insight, authentic origin, values expressed as decisions, positioning statement, brand promise, and short/long brand narrative. Explain the changes from v1.

3 · ICP and buying journey
Buying context, trigger, practical and emotional needs, objections, alternatives, trusted information sources, decision criteria, and three implications for merchandising or content.

4 · Market and assortment fit
Evidence-supported alternative comparison; product/category attributes mapped to customer needs; focus and exclusions; no invented exclusivity or commercial terms.

5 · Proof of craft
One polished category or product narrative and three differentiated campaign concepts. Show customer education, discovery, purchase confidence, and post-purchase experience.

6 · Execution and collaboration
Current operating readiness; proposed 90-day milestones, owners, metrics and capacity; specific manufacturer support requested and reseller contribution offered.

7 · Evidence appendix
Sources, v1 change log, research limitations, commitments, open questions, and the next validation actions. Remove private customer and account information.

Proposed scoring rubric: 100 points

Positioning specificity 20 · ICP depth and evidence 20 · Manufacturer relevance 20 · Execution credibility 20 · Writing and presentation 20. Score each dimension against the section requirements above. Target at least 90/100, with no dimension below 16/20. Give reasons for scores and revise deficiencies before final review. The score is an internal quality check, not an external certification.

Observable anchors, mandatory regardless of score: positioning names a customer/problem/difference/ask; ICP links evidence to three strategic decisions; manufacturer fit maps needs to products and mutual contributions; execution names owners, timing, capacity, and dependencies; presentation includes polished specimens and a clear first page.

Hard pass conditions: no invented traction, testimonials, quotations, partnerships, market sizes, guarantees, or operational promises; all material v1 hypotheses addressed; achievable commitments; no placeholders or contradictions; readable layout and working links.

Proposed presentation target: 10-14 purposeful pages, including a one-page executive summary and evidence appendix. This is a target, not a padding quota. Use the reseller brand, original synthesis, specific language, strong hierarchy, and selectable text. The AI must challenge generic copy before exporting.
